Bartók, Béla Viktor János / Concerto for Orchestra – Fritz Reiner; Chicago Symphony Orchestra (RCA Victor LM-1934) – This is a truly amazing Symphonic record. This highly sought after LP has been talked about since the day it was released in 1956. An interesting side note to this, Bartok’s final work; in the Concerto for Orchestra’s (fourth movement), called Intermezzo interrotto is known as being a scathing political statement about Shostakovich’s Symphony No.7.
